Born in Dakar, Senegal, Mama Casset studied photography from the age of 12. Mama produced a work that he himself describes as artistic with his second wife and his muse, the main model. To look at a picture of Mama Casset is laughter, sadness, fortitude or weakness, and sensuality. Mama became blind, he ceased all activity in the 1980s and a few years later, his studio was completely destroyed by fire. His work is now out of oblivion.
