Dennis Morris was only fourteen when he went to London's Speakeasy club to capture photographs of Bob Marley and the Wailers. When Marley saw the young black fans anxiously clutching his camera, he invited him to take shots backstage and from the audience. Over the next eight years, until Bob Marley s death in 1981, the two developed a close friendship that allowed Morris to photograph the king of reggae in every major stage of his career. In Bob Marley: A Rebel Life, Morris has created an evocative personal tribute to this shamanic performer and cultural spokesman. Combining over 150 previously unpublished photographs of Marley in performance, on tour, and at home in Jamaica.
