Published before Emin changed the British Art landscape forever with her Turner prize-nominated 'My Bed'. I Need Art Like I Need God' is a beautifully illustrated catalogue from her 1998 show at London's White Cube gallery. This body of work is some of Tracey's most recognisable and features photography, works on paper and sculpture, as well as the early neon signs we now instantly associate with her work. Emin's status is firmly established as one of the most successful and recognisable living British artists, still making work today. The book comes with an original pull-out poster (pictured) where Tracey put it to her art friends, including Gillian Wearing, Sarah Lucas, Mat Collishaw & her then boyfriend, Billy Childish, to 'Write what they thoughr about me in less than 200 words' and accompanying scans of polaroids of the pairs.
