Incredible project from Amanda Tetrault and Trolley books. The book is Amanda’s exploration into the world of her father, Philip Tetrault - a poet who has lived with schizophrenia and its effects since he was 21. Philip was a poet full of promise and was even hailed by Leonard Cohen as one of the best young poets in Canada in 1986 before he slipped into yet another schizophrenic void. This void left him often homeless, struggling with addiction, and made relationships with others including his daughter Amanda, at times difficult to maintain. The photographs cover six years of sporadic meetings between Amanda and Phil which are warm, loving, and unorthodox. It's beautiful having such access to a relationship that despite all its challenges seems to be full of love.
