Andrew Miksys's first book BAXT, a Romani word that means ‘luck, fate, destiny’ consists of photographs of the Roma in Miksys's home, Lithuania taken over 8 years from 1998. Miksys's work is incredible, and his ability to engage with the Lithuanian Roma community – a minority with very little voice and often the subject of hateful stereotypes. Miksys’ photographs go beyond the prejudice and capture a more intimate reality of the Roma people in Lithuania.
