The Ultimate Angels by Byron Newman is a beautiful body of work about the transsexual Brazilian nightlife of 80s Paris. Life on the streets and the infamous bois de Boulogne, as well as the private aspects of a discreet subculture. The pictures are not constructed but realistic and at the same time glamorous, a glamour that mixes Baudelaire with daring fashion in an always sexy way. One of the standout queer photo books of the 1980s.
