Swiss photographer Christian Vogt’s In Camera upends traditional portraiture by ceding creative control to his subjects. Shot between 1979 and 1980, Vogt asked 52 women to direct their own sensual portraits in front of his lens, allowing them to choose their posing, props, and setting. The resulting collection of duotone black-and-white nudes is a collaborative study in agency, intimacy, and performance, serving as a landmark entry in 1980s conceptual portraiture.
