BLESS first gained international attention in the winter of 1997–98, when models in a Martin Margiela runway show wore the duo’s now-iconic fur wigs. Founded by Désirée Heiss and Ines Kaag, the Paris + Berlin-based studio quickly established itself as one of fashion’s most innovative and unconventional creative forces. It deliberately resists definition within any single discipline moving fluidly between fashion, beauty, interior design, exhibition-making, branding, and art.
