An interesting body of work from fashion designer and photographer Hedi Slimane, Intermission 1 is composed predominantly of photographs of hotel curtains that he visited in the likes of Tokyo & New York. The images appear to repeat across different rooms and locations, shifting through light, fabric, and colour with minimal variation.
The way the book is made is integral to how it’s read. Pages are printed with a vinyl coating so that they stick together and must be peeled apart as you move through them, mimicking the opening of the curtains.
