In 1991, celebrated Japanese photographer Kozo Miyoshi arrived in Tucson, Arizona, for an artist residency at the Centre for Creative Photography. Miyoshi embarked on a profound artistic journey through the American wilderness. From towering cactus forests and isolated desert chapels to infinite desert horizons, Miyoshi treats both landscapes not as a tourist but as a spiritual wanderer trying to "stop time." Every monochrome plate captures a heavy, quiet stillness, revealing the invisible thread connecting two seemingly opposite sides of the globe, Japan, and the United States.
