It was published to coincide with Maison Martin Margiela ’20’ The Exhibition, a major touring show celebrating 20 years of work by the influential and enigmatic Belgian fashion designer. Conceived in close collaboration with Maison Martin Margiela and curated by the Mode Museum, Antwerp, the exhibition was later shown at Haus der Kunst, Munich, and Somerset House, London. This book captures Maison Martin Margiela’s deconstructivist, subversive, and often radical approach to fashion through an examination of the themes and influences that have underpinned the fashion house since its creation.
